Around 45 per cent of ACT residents havent bought a CD in over a year and 75 per cent now download music and movies online, a survey by NRMA Home Contents Insurance has found*.

NRMA Insurance spokesperson Andrew Tubb said that many people said they download music or movies at least a few times a month, revealing that people are becoming more and more reliant on their computers to get their music and movie fix.

Theres certainly a strong appetite for downloading – people are investing significantly in their digital music and movie collections and some would be worth a lot of money.

With that in mind, its no surprise that 70 per cent of people said it would be a major inconvenience if they lost their online content.

Mr Tubb said the survey showed that although men tend to download content more often, women were the most attached to their digital collections with more claiming theyd be devastated if they lost their digital collection.

With so much time and money spent building up a music and movie collection, it makes sense to have it covered as part of your home contents insurance so it can be replaced, Mr Tubb said.

With NRMA Home Contents Insurance, legally downloaded digital media stored in your home, like music and movies can be automatically covered for up to $ 2,500 as part of Music, games and movies and if customers need more, then they can choose to increase their cover.

As His Artists Climb To The Top Of The Billboard Music Charts, Kerry Douglas Proves Why He Is Gospel Music’s Best Sales Man 30
Dec
Posted by in Car CD on 12 30th, 2011

Houston, TX (PRWEB) September 22, 2011

Last week, relative newcomer Earnest Pugh knocked gospel legend Kirk Franklin out of the #1 slot on Billboards Hot Gospel Songs chart. Pughs dramatic song I Need Your Glory has enjoyed a meteoric rise over the last four months and its all thanks to former concert promoter and car salesman, Kerry Douglas, who has spent the last decade turning Army drill sergeants, choir directors and others into todays top tier gospel stars through his Black Smoke Worldwide Gospel label.

While the music industry sales as a whole have taken a nosedive, Douglas has employed his innovative New Deal Entertainment University marketing tactics to take James Fortune & FIYA to the top of the chart with their #1 hits I Believe and I Trust You. Last year, Douglas pushed Earnest Pugh to the #1 spot with Rain On Us. Throughout his career, Douglas has given several artists the signature hits that keep them working today, ranging from Evelyn Turrentine-Agees God Did It that earned a BMI award as the most played gospel song of 2001 to Keith Wonderboy Johnsons Send A Revival. As a result, Billboard magazine named Douglas company the #1 independent gospel record label last year.

Just five years ago, no one knew the name of James Fortune. Thanks to Douglas golden touch, Fortune is now one of the biggest names in gospel music. The single, I Trust You, remained #1 on Billboards gospel chart for 29 weeks (winning ASCAPs Gospel Song of the Year Award in 2009. He followed with I Believe, which spent 19 weeks at #1. In between hits, Fortune hit the Top Ten with I Wouldnt Know You and Encore. While Fortune captured the youth market, Douglas set Pugh up to conquer the church ladies with his balladeering. Pughs 2009 breakthrough, Rain On Us, spent two weeks at #1 on the gospel chart in 2010 and set his career ablaze with Essence.com naming him a gospel artist to watch.

The latter part of 2010, Douglas introduced The New Deal Entertainment University marketing concept that labels throughout the gospel industry are seeking to copy. The New Deal methodology combines traditional grass-roots promotions and todays online, mobile and social media networking tools. Douglas put the theory to use on Pughs sophomore Black Smoke release, Earnestly Yours. The set debuted at #1 on Billboards Top Gospel Sales Chart in July, toppling Kirk Franklins latest CD, Hello Fear. It was the first #1 CD debut in Black Smoke history and a rare feat that an album would debut at #1 before the radio single had made significant impact.

Douglas has been making his impact for almost two decades now. He formed the Independent Gospel Music Network (IGMN) in 1998 and went on to publish The Gospel Truth Magazine (GTM) that reaches more than 100,000 readers nationally. GTM was the first gospel publication to introduce new artists on a free CD sampler that accompanied every issue. That CD sampler has evolved into the Gospel Mix CD series that introduces a new crop of hot gospel artists to the world each year. That series was the launching pad for James Fortune, Earnest Pugh and other gospel stars and is dedicated to introducing next years biggest artists and songs. This years 28-song set, Coco Brother Presents Gospel Mix V, is emceed by syndicated radio personality, Cory Coco Brother Condrey, and features the next wave of gospel stars with dynamic performances by Zacardi Cortez, Bryan Wilson and Condrey himself. Internet-Cottages Reveals Stunning New Norfolk Holiday Cottage in Wells-next-the-Sea on the North Norfolk Coast 19
Dec

London (PRWEB) November 24, 2011

Internet-Cottages is delighted to present the latest addition to its Norfolk Holiday Cottages section with this stunning newly refurbished holiday cottage in Wells-next-the-Sea on the North Norfolk Coast.

This charming Grade II listed brick and flint cottage was built around 1828, and has been in the owner’s family since 1911. Over the last year, it has been lovingly renovated and fully refurbished to marry modern and traditional materials, resulting in a quite stunning Norfolk holiday home.

The owners, Kevin and Vivienne Hegarty, have recently won an award for a new property in Suffolk namely ‘Winners of the Suffolk Archant 2010 Award’ for the best new build. They have applied the same attention to detail with this renovation and created a fantastic blend of original features and modern day comfort. Full details can be seen at Wisteria Holiday Cottage Norfolk

Wisteria Cottage is located only a few hundred yards from both the town and the quayside, providing easy access to the wonderful beach at Wells, with its acres of golden sand and famous beach huts. Like much of North Norfolk, it’s a foodie heaven, with a great many good food pubs in the immediate vicinity – or if you prefer self-catering, make sure to pay a visit to the delicatessen at Cley-next-the-Sea just along the coast, where you’ll be unable to resist making some sort of purchase. Also not-to-be-missed is Cookies Crab Shop – very much a legend in the area, with superb fresh seafood platters, served under a quirky collection of gazebos and a garden hut, with the added advantage of allowing you to take your own wine. Great food, fantastic value.

The holiday cottage has three bedrooms to accommodate up to 5 people – it’s strictly for adults only though, as there are two steep staircases in the property which make it unsuitable for children or those with limited mobility. It features a kitchen, dining room, cosy sitting room, reception area and cloakroom on the ground floor. The sitting room has comfortable sofas with a flat screen television with DVD player incorporating a full Sky package. The dining area offers seating for six and a comfortable chair to relax, read or simply unwind listening to your favourite music from the CD player or IPod deck. The kitchen which is well equipped includes a fridge freezer, double oven, microwave and washing machine.

There are two spacious double bedrooms and a single bedroom. The double rooms have King size beds and 32″ flat screen wall mounted televisions with Freesat viewing. All beds are fitted with pocket sprung mattresses and luxurious quality white bed linen. There are two traditional ‘winder’ staircases at each end of the cottage which makes it unsuitable for children or those with limited mobility. The luxury bathroom is fitted with a large double shower, a boat bath and a heated towel rail. The cottage has full gas central heating.

The outside area offers car parking for two vehicles, together with an attractive walled garden with two charming original washhouses and water pump surrounded by a double paved patio area with subtle lighting. This is complimented with wrought iron garden furniture.

The cottage is available all year round, with weekly rentals starting at

Students Hatch Plan to Make One Million Dollars by Trading up for Australian Charities 1egg1world 18

Melbourne, Australia (PRWEB) December 19, 2011

Starting with just one egg, three Australian students are well on their way to raising one million dollars for charity with the help of their pet chickens. The fundraising initiative appropriately named 1egg1world has the plan to raise the ambitious $ 1million target through trading up. After just 10 trades they are now in possession of $ 20,000 AUS and are seeking their next swap and are currently calling on offers.

Trading up is the process of trading one item for another item of greater value.

Starting with an egg, the 1egg1world team made their first trade for a CD, and then traded the CD for a Board game and they have continued to trade, growing each time in value. Other trades so far have included a Toyota Camry, an African Safari for two and a portrait by famous Australian Artist Craig Ruddy of Cathy Freeman (Australian Athlete). For the 10th trade the students put the Craig Ruddy portrait up for auction, which raised $ 24,000, of which $ 4,000 went to the auction house.

With $ 20,000 the students are now looking for their next big trade and are calling on offers however big, small or unusual.

1egg1world has already received one exciting offer by Glenn Singleman who offered an adventure package of a lifetime as seen attached.

The boys are also targeting a celebrity experience but are open to all offers such as a movie role, record contract, holiday experience, classic car, plane, boat, campervan, race horse, property or whatever else may be of interest to the wider public. 1egg1world co-founder Josh OMeara stated that the team is willing to consider offers from anywhere in the world. Mr. O’Meara said Money (as a trade) gives us real freedom and we know that it will excite a lot of people, so were hoping a lot of people come forward with offers. Offers, no matter how silly, are what makes the experience interesting; we love debating our different options, so shoot us your best offer.”

To find out more, including the beneficiaries, to request an interview or to make a trade offer – visit http://www.1egg1world.org and join the ambitious students and their chooks on Facebook and join them on their journey.

New Olympus 16
Dec
Posted by in Car CD on 12 16th, 2011

Center Valley, PA (PRWEB) December 14, 2011

Olympus, the worlds number one manufacturer of portable digital voice recorders and professional dictation devices, has created an ideal tool for musicians and audio enthusiasts with the new LS-100 linear PCM audio recording device. The latest edition to the popular LS series features two internal 90-degree directional stereo condenser microphones that capture lower-bass frequencies and louder sound with less clipping, two quarter-inch XLR/standard phone combination inputs and multi-tracking with two-channel simultaneous recording and eight-channel playback. Packed in an attractive, well-built portable device, the Olympus LS-100 combines these new features with uncompressed 24 bit/96 kHz Linear PCM digital recording to offer users incredible audio quality in a multi-track recorder.

The Olympus LS series has been a favorite of musicians, artists and music lovers, and the LS-100 is an evolution in this series designed with the working musician, specifically, in mind, said Amy Leslie, Sr. Marketing & Business Development Manager, Olympus Imaging America Inc. For songwriting sessions, band rehearsals, live performances, broadcasting, or really anything that requires the highest quality of audio recording, the LS-100 is an ideal, all-encompassing recording solution.

Supersonic Sound

The hallmark of the Olympus LS series has always been superior sound quality, and the LS-100 takes that reputation to a new level. Two internal 90-degree directional stereo condenser microphones with a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz allow the user to capture all audible lower-bass frequencies. Engineered to capture sound at a wide range of decibel levels, the Olympus LS-100 is an ideal recorder for an incredibly loud environment. Its microphones support sound pressure levels down to 140 decibels, more than enough to capture extreme sound from a rock band without experiencing clipping issues.

With the new high-quality microphones comes new high-quality amplifier circuitry. The audio and system circuitry are separated on the Olympus LS-100 to minimize sound degradation and keep the signal true. A switchable low-cut filter enables users to eliminate low-frequency sound at two different settings, 100Hz or 300Hz. Unwanted background noises like talking or the rumble of a distant car, can be greatly minimized.

Plug N Play

The Olympus LS-100 features two quarter-inch XLR / standard phone combo jacks, which support phantom power at 48/24 volts to power a variety of high-quality external microphones.

These inputs can hook into any line-output device, including guitars, soundboards and keyboards. Both the microphones and XLR inputs feature independent recording levels. This allows the user to reach the right balance or blend on the fly. A balanced line provides a noise-free signal.

Eight Track Heaven

The LS-100 is the first Olympus recorder with multi-tracking capabilities. Whether you want to record in just one take, or you prefer the versatility multi-track recording offers, the LS-100 provides the power and flexibility to meet all demands. Up to eight tracks are at users disposal. Each can be separately volume adjusted and panned, then mixed down to create the complete composition.

Musicians Toolbox

Other essential tools easily accessible on the LS-100 include a tuner, metronome and Lissajous measurement. The metronome feature allows users to keep perfect time, and the tuner function ensures accurate tuning for each musical instrument selected. Users can also invoke the Lissajous function, which detects and displays the phase difference between the left and right external microphones from the sound source on the 2.0 backlight LCD – ideal for broadcasting studios. When burning a CD, the Olympus LS-100 can be connected directly to a CD drive for fast and easy mastering.

Overdubs are also in the repertoire of the Olympus LS-100, allowing sound recording to take place over the original sound while simultaneously monitoring it. Meanwhile, the Playback Synchro Recording feature enables recording of an additional track while listening to another.

Files are saved to the internal 4GB memory or on SD (up to 2GB) / SDHC (up to 32GB) / SDXC (up to 64GB) cards. The LS-100 operates on one rechargeable lithium-ion battery ideal for lengthy recording sessions.

Never Miss a Note

The first vital sounds of a recording will never be missed thanks to the innovative Pre-Recording function, which lets the two seconds prior to hitting the record button be captured. Additionally, with Voice Sync, users can set the Olympus LS-100 to automatically commence recording to file once sound hits a certain level. Index marks can also be placed at specific points on a track letting particular sections to be located more easily later. And various repeat modes, including A-B Repeat, allow users to listen to precise track sequences at will.

Making Recording Accessible for Everyone

Another key LS-100 feature is voice guidance, whereby the recorder can provide audio prompts for users with assistive needs. This helps the user operate the device without needing to see the menus or buttons. Artists with visual or learning disabilities have long been faithful Olympus users, and the LS-100 was built with their needs in mind.

Professional Look and Feel

The durable and compact Olympus LS-100 Multi-Track Linear PCM recorder bestows musicians and broadcasters a high performance, mobile multi-track recording studio to fulfil all their needs from a single track to a complete composition boasting highest possible audio qualities. Jam-packed with cutting-edge technology and ready-to-use hands-on features, this metal-bodied masterpiece will hit stores at a recommended price of $ 399 in February 2012.
